BOAT LAUNCHING CHECK LIST

BEFORE LAUNCHING THE BOAT TO RAMP:

  1. REMOVE TRAILER BACK STRAPS
  2. CHECK DRAIN PLUG BE IN PLACE AND TIGHT
  3. TURN ON (VERTICALLY) MAIN BATTERY SWITCH
  4. PUT BILGE PUMP SWITCH ON AUTOMATIC POSITION
  5. OPEN GAS TANK VENT
  6. CHECK FUEL HOSE QUICK COUPLING ON GAS TANK TO BE FULLY WAY BACK AND CONNECTED
  7. CHECK WATER FILTER SEPARATOR DRAIN TO BE CLOSE (NO FUEL DRIPPING MUST BE OBSERVED)
  8. CHECK FUEL HOSE CONECTION TO ENGINE TO BE FULLY SET
  9. MANUAL BULBE RUBBER PUMP UNTIL BULBE BECOMES HARD TO SQUEEZE
  10. CHECK WATER FILTER TO BE FUEL FILLED AND NO DRIPPING OBSERVED
  11. CHECK LADDER TO BE ON UPRIGHT POSITION AND FIXED

WHEN BOAT ON WATER:

  1. MAKE SURE SHIFTER IS ON NEUTRAL POSITION
  2. MAKE SURE EMERGENCY KILL SWITCH IS CLIPPED
  3. TURN QUARTER WAY IGNITION SWITCH UNTIL A BEEP BE HEARD FOR 1 SECOND
  4. TURN FULL WAY TO CRANK THE ENGINE
  5. ONCE THE ENGINE IS RUNNING IN NEUTRAL CHECK FOR WATER STREAM GOING OUT FROM OUTBOARD. THAT MEANS THE ENGINE’S WATER PUMP IS WORKING PERFECTLLY.
  6. CHECK THAT NUMBERS OF LIVESAVERS ON BOARD MATCH THE NUMBER OF PASSENGERS ON PLANNED TRIP.
  7. LET ENGINE WARM UP IN NEUTRAL FOR A MINIMUM OF 5 MINUTES
  8. CHECK FOR ANY ROPES HANGUING AND TAKE THEM INSIDE BOAT

NAVIGATION:

  1. BALANCE THE BOAT WEIGHT WITH PASSENGERS ON THE SEATS
  2. SLOWLY START TO ACELERATE UNTIL BOAT PLANNES
  3. ONCE BOAT PLANNES REDUCE SLIGHTY THE THROTLE
  4. FOLLOW MARKING BUOYS AND CHECK FOR UPCOMING BOATS
  5. CHECK FOR WATER COLOR CHANGES AND SHALLOW WATER
  6. IF ENCOUNTERED WITH SHALLOW WATER TRIM UP THE ENGINE TO PROTECT PROPELLER.

 

LOADING ON TRAILER:

 

  1. UNLASH THE TRAILER WINCH STRAP TO A LENGTH LONGER THAN THE TRAILER
  2. HOOK TO BOAT U-BOLT ON BOW
  3. START CRANKING THE WINCH WHILE KEEPING THE BOAT CENTERED TO TRAILER
  4. ONCE THE BOAT’S BOW TOUCH THE FRONT ROLLER TAKE TRAILER OUT OF THE WATER
  5. ONCE ON LAND, UNPLUG DRAIN AND SAVE PLUG IN A SAFE PLACE
  6. TIE DOWN TRAILER BACK STRAPS
  7. TRIM UP ENGINE AT 45 DEGREES
  8. DISCONECT BATTERY SWITCH (HORIZONTAL POSITION) AND TAKE OUT IGNITION KEYS
  9. TIE DOWN BIMINI TOP WITH COVER AND TAKE OUT BOAT SEATS TO THE CAR
